Dr. Chris Cheung completed his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Kinesiology from York University where he concurrently completed the Fitness Appraisal and Exercise Prescription Certificate Program. Following his own experience as a patient during his graduate studies, he decided to study Chiropractic and obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
Dr. Cheung has worked within the Athletic Performance Lab at York University assessing the occupational fitness of firefighters and police officer candidates. He was part of the assessment team during the 2007 NHL Combined Entry Draft. In practice, Dr. Cheung utilizes a variety of techniques including manipulation/mobilizations of the spine and extremities, clinical acupuncture, cupping, Active Release Techniques (ART), instrument assisted soft tissue mobilizations and rehab exercises to promote healing and improved function.
Dr. Cheung is focused on functional outcomes of care that are important to the patient and seeks to improve the wellness of each patient as a whole being. As a compassionate and empathetic individual, he truly desires to bring change and empowerment to people whose pain and decreased function make it difficult to enjoy their pursuits in life. Dr. Kapil Deswal is a duly trained and qualified chiropractor licensed to practice in the province of Ontario. He completed a Bachelor of Science (Hon) degree from the University of Toronto and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the New York Chiropractic College. He is board certified by the Canadian Board of Chiropractic Examiners and National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (U.S.). He is in good standing with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario. He serves as an examiner for the Canadian Board of Chiropractic Examiners. His practice is primarily focused on the evaluation and management of neuromusculoskeletal injuries. He has successfully treated varied presentations of back pain, neck pain, nerve pain, headaches, Motor Vehicle Accidents, whiplash injuries, work and sports related injuries. He believes in a holistic approach to patient care, and is committed to his patients in healing and recovery.
When not at work Kapil enjoys reading, extensively travelling, and volunteering non profit professional platform initiatives for food and education programs for underprivileged children in India. He is also extensively involved in Psycho-social initiative programs for youth and adults suffering from addiction and mental health issues both in Canada and in India.
Alex received his diploma from Wellsprings College of Massage Therapy and Esthetics in 2010.
Alex is a Master of Sports in Athletics, specialization- pole vaulting. He is 3 times holder of the Silver Medal (2nd place) of the Junior Championships of the USSR. During his career in sports he was several times the champion of Ukraine and a prize holder at a different international competitions.
He has extensive experience when it comes to sports injuries, being an athlete himself in the past he understands the importance of preventative care and the proper treatment of the injury. From preventive treatments for pain to corrective care for balance and mobility issues he is an expert.
Alex is a big fan of all sports and enjoys helping people achieve their rehabilitation goals, personal goals and fitness levels.
Iryna graduated from Canadian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2005 and became an acupuncturist.
In 2005 she also graduated from Wellsprings College of Massage Therapy and Esthetics and became a Registered Massage Therapist.
Prior to getting her diplomas here in Canada, she worked in Ukraine for 12 years, specializing in musculoskeletal sports and performance related injuries as a kinesiologist.
She also conducts workshops in Acupuncture Physiatrics, an integrative style of acupuncture.
Iryna loves outdoors, in her spare time she does hiking, water rafting and kayaking; during winter times you will find her skiing on the slopes of Blue Mountain or Mont Tremblant.
He did his BPT and MPT (Neurology) from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, India.
He has over 12 years of experience as a physiotherapist in both hospital and private practice settings. He has done extensive work on postural related musculoskeletal problems and neurorehabilitation.
He has experience working with orthopedic, MVA and sports related injuries, post operative rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation. He takes particular interest in preventing sports and running injuries with targeted strength and motor control exercises. He delivers workplace training workshops on injury prevention and discomfort management. Other workplace services include workplace assessments and advising on specific health and safety issues.
He has a special interest in treating patients with longstanding or chronic and complex musculoskeletal problems. Currently he is working as a Resident PT in Dun- Dix Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation clinic and Physiomed, Roytec.
Maryna graduated from Lviv Medical University in Ukraine with medical doctor diploma in 2009. She is currently a student at York University enrolled in Nursing program.
Maryna is extremely organized individual, she enjoys working with patients, she listens to patients and makes sure their needs are addressed.
She educates patients on their treatment plans and therapy. Maryna acts as a liaison between the patients and healthcare personnel by keeping the lines of communication flowing.
In her spare time she enjoys reading and baking.
Natalia is a certified Osteopath registered with the Canadian Association of Osteopaths (CAO). She provides an osteopathy treatments and manual therapy to our patients.
She has extensive experience with patients who suffered injuries during car accidents.
Natalia has very positive energy and we are absolutely thrilled to have her as a part of our team.
Originally from Ukraine, Natalia enjoys singing and is a part of a church choir. She also enjoys travelling and meeting new people.
